Influenced by over 30 years in the Southwest, Jean Caggiano creates paintings that capture the dance between ephemeral light and immutable stone and the tension between the fragile beauty and relentless energy of plant life.

Her botanical series blurs the line between realism and abstraction encouraging the viewer to break through to new perspectives on both. Jean’s lifelong and promiscuous love affair with plants shatters our confidence in what we see, seducing us with the mystery of the world around us.

Owner of Gryphon Design, a graphic design firm, Jean has been a Colorado resident since 1978. She was born on Long Island, New York into a family of artists and painted her first still life at age 12.
